Edison pearl is a new type of nuclear fresh water pearl, mainly produced in lakes and ponds in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The diameter of most Edison pearls can reach between 11 and 13mm, because there is a core inside Edison pearls and they are cultivated for a long time. Therefore, the roundness of Edison pearls is relatively high, and a considerable part of them can meet the standard of perfect roundness.  This greatly compensates for the low number of perfectly round freshwater pearls.
